Main activites:

Once a month we organize a meeting of the city Mayor and the youth. At this event young people have an opportunity to talk to the representatives of the local government and ask different questions and get answers.
For the students of Universities of Mostar, one Croat University and one Bosnian we organize seminars on student rights and responsibilities and student democracy.
We organize exchange of experiences seminars with the student organization from other universities in the world.
Once a year we organize the “Summer school of dialogue, peace and conflict resolution”
Our work encompasses informal education, interethnic and intercultural dialogue, peaceful conflict resolution, promotion of culture trough creative workshops and art shows and intercultural and youth exchanges

2005 Activities:

 

Asociation Graditelji Mira has started working on creation of a Student Information Centre (SIC) for all the students of Mostar.Asociation Graditelji Mira has teamed up with an American NGO called Builders for peace to undertake this endavour.The preparations for this project have started in the begining of 2005 where trough extensive E-mail corespondence the schedule for the summer work was adopted.The real work started when 6 Harward and Boston college graduates came to Mostar to work on the implementation of the Student Information Centre (SIC).

The creation of an information center is complex and we are striving for efficiency and have proposed an organizational system that will divide the tasks according to abilities of SIC employees. In this way, each of the sectors of the SIC would be focused on a certain objective.The SIC seeks to provide high school students with information before they decide which subject to pursue at the university. This is very important because many students simply choose a course of study without sufficient knowledge and frequently students change their preferences without the ability to transfer prior coursework. We also wish to provide students with help in finding suitable housing and necessary environmental factors (locations of bookstores, medical care, restaurants, et cetera).

For the upcoming fall 2005 Asociation Graditelji Mira in cooperation with the Local Democracy Agency lda is preparing a project called "Dialogue trough practice-Court trial simulations".
This project aims at developing the awareness and skills of students as well as professors and assistants of the importance of practical and research work, to introduce to the students the importance of developing legal skills and their application on a concrete legal case.

The goals of the project:

• Improving interethnic dialogue between the two legal faculties of Mostar, trough concrete activities
• Analyzing and working on concrete human rights violation cases
• Raising awareness of the staff and the students of both Mostar universities about the importance of developing legal skills and their application on a concrete case.
• Developing the skills of students and preparing them for their future legal profession.
• Preparing the grounds for future cooperation among the Universities in Mostar
